What is Saphir shoe polish?
Saphir is the world's most respected shoe-care house. Its premium Médaille d'Or (“gold medal”) line dates to 1925, when the original Pommadier cream won gold at the Paris International Exhibition. The formulas are rich in natural waxes, oils and pigments and are free from silicones — so they feed the leather rather than just coating it. Saphir makes two lines: Médaille d'Or (the premium range we specialise in) and Beauté du Cuir (everyday value).
The three types of Saphir polish
1. Cream — Pommadier Crème 1925
The everyday workhorse. Nourishes the leather and restores colour, leaving a soft, natural sheen. Reach for cream when leather looks dry or faded. 14 colours in stock.

Which Saphir polish do I need?
- Faded or dry leather? Start with Pommadier cream — it restores colour and condition.
- Want more shine and protection? Add Pâte de Luxe wax over the cream.
- After a mirror finish? Finish the toe and heel with Mirror Gloss.
